Following the success of previous years, the City of Perth Winter Arts Festival is set to sizzle again in 2008. Whether you're a music lover, theatre buff, art connoisseur, or dance fanatic - there is sure to be something to ignite your senses.
Now in its fourth year, the annual festival has established itself as one of the State's premier arts events. This year a working title of "Anything's Possible" will be used to highlight and promote the city's dynamic arts and cultural scene over the months of June, July and August.
New participants in 2008 include Central TAFE Art Gallery, Perth Jazz Society, Festival Baroque, Tura New Music and City in Bloom, where selected artists will use thousands of flowers to create floral arrangements all over the CBD based on their inspiration from artworks.
Snowfields in the City features for the 2008 July school holidays and 100 tonnes of artificial snow, complete with a giant ski slope, will transform Forrest Place into a winter wonderland. Children will experience the thrill of winter as they race each other in colourful tubes down a 30 metre long ski slope and there will be a special area to throw snowballs at targets.
