CLOSED FOR THE 2024 SEASON

Located in the heart of the Kimberley, Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary is owned and managed by the non-profit Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) and offers nearly one million acres of spectacular gorges and tropical Savannah dominated by the Martuwarra (Fitzroy) River and Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges.

From the camp, there are many enjoyable day trips at Mornington which will make you want to stay just one more day. Canoe down Dimond Gorge and swim and explore Sir John Gorge. Before dinner, take a hamper for sunset drinks at a number of stunning locations.

Birdwatching tours leave early in the morning and are guided by AWC Ecologists and Interpretations Officers at secret birding hot spots. Jump aboard their four-wheel drive tour bus, witness the breathtaking heart of the Kimberley and learn all about AWC's wildlife conservation mission.

Relax and soak up the atmosphere with a few nights in the safari tents which have their own private en suite and balcony overlooking Annie’s creek (subject to limited availability). Alternatively, pitch your own tent in the shady creek-side campground which has communal hot showers and flushing toilets.

In the evenings, dine under the stars at the Bush Bar and licensed restaurant which offers fantastic meals matched with premium Western Australian wines.
