 From music and models to designers and sculptors, Western Australia is a breeding ground for innovative minds, unique talents and fresh ideas.
Some put this success down to the idyllic surrounds - clean air, wide open spaces and stunning landscapes.
But others link it to Perth's strong independent streak, born from being the most isolated city in the world.

Acting-wise, Oscar-nominated actor Heath Ledger was born and bred in Perth - as was Hollywood starlets Melissa George and Isla Fisher.
Perth is where you'll find coveted acting school WAAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts), where Hugh Jackman and Dominic Purcell both graduated.
Then there's the fact that some of Australia's leading artists have hailed from Westerrn Australia. The work of Robert Juniper, Ron Gomboc and the late Guy Grey-Smith are part of prestigious collections around the world.
