Interaction With Marine Life

Experience the thrill of swimming beside Western Australia's glorious creatures of the deep.

Swim with the dolphins, RockinghamStart by taking a dip with the dolphins in Rockingham and Bunbury. These intelligent mammals seem to love the interaction as much as we do!

They frolic and cavort around swimmers, circling and diving among them as if welcoming them to their underwater playground.

Rockingham's crystal-clear waters have been home to the same group of dolphins for more than 50 years. Specialist tour charters leave daily, transporting visitors to the heart of these dolphin-rich waters.

Bunbury is home to around 90 bottlenose dolphins and is one of the few places in the world where wild dolphins freely visit the beach to interact with humans.

Visitors can float and snorkel with dolphins, or cruise out to watch them swim in open waters.

Come face to face with a manta ray, Ningaloo ReefAt Monkey Mia, 850 kilometres north of Perth, a small pod of dolphins regularly swim into the calm shallows to say g'day and snare a feed of fish.

Mid-morning is the best time to meet these endearingly mischievous mammals.

In the emerald lagoons of Ningaloo Reef, swim alongside ancient turtles, graceful mantra rays and docile dugongs.

Ningaloo Reef is also one of the few places on earth where you can swim with the world's biggest fish - the whale shark.

Those who have taken the plunge with these gentle giants of the deep are often left speechless.

Don a snorkel and explore the tropical marine life of the wild and untamed Abrolhos Islands.

This group of 122 scenic islands abounds with coral, sea grasses and colourful fish.

Swim with the whale sharks, NingalooOver at Rottnest Island, swim beside oodles of wrasse, harlequin, fox fish and fiddler sharks on Roe Reef.

Fifteen minutes from Perth, get up close and personal with an underwater Eden of a different kind.

At AQWA, a giant glass aquarium, snorkel or dive alongside sharks, stingrays, turtles and thousands of rainbow-coloured fish.

You can also have a hands-on encounter with starfish, stingrays and itty-bitty sharks in the touch pool.
