About the Kimberley
THE KIMBERLEY region in Western Australia is one of the world's last true wilderness areas. Covering nearly 423,000 square kilometres, this ancient region has fewer people per square kilometre than almost any other place on Earth.

Hidden in the heart of the Kimberley region are vast wildlife sanctuaries, spectacular gorges and thundering waterfalls. And on its coast lie some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, untouched coral atolls and rugged islands with an amazing variety of marine life.

The rich colour palette and unique rugged landscape inspired film maker Baz Luhrmann to take 400 cast and crew to the remote region for more than four weeks in August and September 2007 to film pivotal scenes of his epic romantic adventure 'Australia' the movie.

Now it's your turn to star in the adventure of a lifetime.
