Tourism WA is always keen to support and promote holiday deals on westernaustralia.com to encourage visitors to experience our wonderful State.

Our website receives over 3 million visits annually and the holiday deals content always proves popular to both our website users and newsletter subscribers.

Top tips and frequently asked questions for loading holiday deals


We've tried to make loading deals as easy as possible...here's some of our top helpful hints:

  1. How do I gain access to the holiday deals trade portal? Get in touch with your Tourism WA representative as all Tourism WA Market Managers, both at head office and in market have been granted Admin rights so they can create access (add people) under the 'manage people' section.

  2. How do I log in successfully? After you've received your login details from Tourism WA, when you first log in at www.deals.westernaustralia.com, tick 'remember me' as this will help keep you logged into the system for longer (without getting kicked out for security reasons!).

  3. How do I load a deal? The portal is intuitive and user friendly. Once you log in you should see an 'Add Deal' button which will allow you to enter details in the online form. All field character limits and logo/image dimension details (the image must be a square!) are included to help guide you through the steps.

  4. I'm very pushed for time - what is the most important part of the deal to focus on? Make sure the dates are correct, the headline is enticing and the first sentence of your description sells the deal. And always make sure you include a GREAT image - you probably don't need to be told that though! Finally, make sure it's easy for the consumer to book the deal once they make it to your website.

  5. What's the approval process and how long does it take? After submitting your deal, an administrator will either edit, approve, decline or send the deal back to you for further information within 2 business days. You can also obtain a preview of the deal in the system in case you need to take a screenshot for key partners/stakeholder approval.

  6. How will I know if anyone has clicked on my deal? We recommend that you include your own tracking or UTM code at the end of your URL so that you can attribute traffic from our site. Performance reports can be provided on request by contacting your TWA Market Manager.

  7. Can I re-order my deals? Yes, you can change the order in which your deals appear on our site by simply using the up and down arrows. By default, on our site all deals are ordered by date, so you may see other partner deals in between yours. Please also note that the final order of deals is at Tourism WA’s discretion.

  8. Where can I see the holiday deals once they are live? You can view all holiday deals on our holiday deals landing page or on various places across westernaustralia.com where they are relevant (eg UK market deals will only show up on the UK version of the site). Don't forget that your deal won't show up on the site until the date you have specified when loading it into the portal.
  9. What if I spot a mistake in my deal and it's already been approved/gone live? Unfortunately, only admin users can edit deals once they have been approved. If you are a standard user you will need to cancel your deal, copy it, make your changes and then resubmit for approval. Alternatively, you can contact your admin user and they can switch the deal to 'pending further information' and then the user can edit the deal.

Which sites should I target the deals to? If your deal is in Australian dollars and is relevant for all English language sites please choose all English language sites including global (EN). If your deal is in a currency relevant to your country, then choose your country site. If you deal is in a language other than English please only choose your country site.
