The region begins as far north as Byford, just 45 minutes south of Perth by road, and stretches along the Darling escarpment to Pinjarra, Waroona, Dwellingup, Boddington and Bannister, and west to the coastal playgrounds of Mandurah (Mandjoogoordap) and Rockingham.
