Breakaway Campground is an overflow campground in Coalseam Conservation Park for the peak season during July and October. It is located in an old gravel pit on the edge of the breakaway.
There are thirteen compacted gravel, unpowered campsites. There are no facilities. Bring and use a portable, self-contained toilet that is approved for use in Australia and can be emptied into a dump point. Carry waste out of the park for disposal in an authorised dump point.
Generator use is permitted at all campsites between 9am – 11am and 4pm – 6pm only.
With scenic views over the valley, the campground is used when the popular Miner's Campground is at capacity, generally in the Spring when the everlasting wildflowers blanket the area after good winter rains.
Bookings are essential and can be made up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival and for up to three nights only.
