Now in its 27th year, the Mowanjum Festival will once again celebrate the vibrant living culture of the Ngarinyin, Worrora and Wunambal peoples. The grounds of the Mowanjum Arts Centre in Derby will host dancers, singers and performers from throughout the region in the delivery of a unique storytelling experience through Junba (traditional song and dance) and puppetry.

From 2pm visitors will have the opportunity to watch or participate in traditional practices such as damper making, spear throwing, ochre painting and boab nut carving. And as the sun goes down the performers will take centre stage in the sharing of stories, showcasing traditional body painting and totems.

A Kimberley experience not to be missed this dry season!
