Boranup Forest lies between Caves Road and the coast, and creates a powerful contrast with the rest of the coastline. Boranup Drive, suitable for two-wheel drive vehicles, winds through the Boranup Forest past Boranup Campground and Boranup Lookout, which gives sweeping views over the forest and the coast west to Hamelin Bay.
The Boranup Forest, and a few other areas around Augusta and Margaret River, is the westernmost place that the karri trees grow. The forest is particularly picturesque in the golden light of late afternoon. In spring white clematis, purple hovea, yellow hibbertia, and coral creepers add vivid colours to the cool green of the forest.
