Further afield many of the natural wonders found in Western Australia’s national parks are equipped with walkways and viewing platforms. Navigating Perth

In Perth, city streets are equipped with kerb ramps, tactile indicators, and audible signals at crossings in the central area. Accessible features extend to shopping malls and arcades, which offer seating, shade, and accessible drinking fountains. Cafes offer outdoor seating, while major public buildings, arcades, post offices, many churches, and theatres are also designed for accessibility.


Public Transport

Public train services are provided by Transperth across the Perth City area. All trains are wheelchair and limited mobility friendly. Every WA train has clearly marked wheelchair spaces near the doors and every station has audio and visual updates at help points. Two wheelchair accessible public ferries operate within Perth. Journey from Barrack Street Jetty to Mends Street Jetty where you can find South Perth and the Perth Zoo.

WA recognises international and interstate Accessibility Parking Permits. Accessible parking bays are offered across the city, a valid permit needs to be displayed at all times. 


Assistive Equipment Hire

Wheelchairs and motorised scooters are available for hire at Perth Train Station. A deposit and proof of ID is required. Bookings are made by calling (08) 9461 3550 or (08) 9461 3551.  


Accessible Toilets

Changing Place facilities are located in Elizabeth Quay near the water park and at Citiplace Rest Centre. They include a hoist, adult changing table, and an automatic door.
