Banksia Camp is a great choice for a family holiday, with camping and fishing and spectacular coastal views across to Chatham Island.

The current Banksia Hut replaced the old hut that was erected back in 1965. Banksia Hut is a roomy shelter containing four bedrooms and a common area that is designed to accommodate 12 people comfortably.

The hut cannot be pre-booked or reserved so visitors are advised to carry a tent in case it is occupied on arrival. Rainwater is provided at the hut for all visitors to Banksia Camp. Please use this resource sparingly as it is limited. Water should be treated before drinking. Be aware that this facility is provided for all visitors so please limit your stay to three nights to allow other people to enjoy this experience.

Camping fees apply. Park entry fees apply.

Campfires are usually permitted, in the provided fire rings only, between April 15 and November 30 but fire restrictions may be imposed at any time and without notice. Bring your own firewood.

Campers´ own liquid or gas fuel barbeques, stoves and heaters can be used at any time, unless a total fire ban has been declared.
