The largest diamond mine on Earth, Argyle Diamond Mine near Kununurra, produces a dazzling 20 million carats of diamonds yearly. It’s the world's largest producer of natural champagne and cognac diamonds and is famous for one of the rarest and most valuable precious stones on the planet - pink diamonds.

Guided mine tours and scenic Kimberley flights depart from Kununurra. It’s a three-hour-10-minute flight from Perth to reach Kununurra and you can book the mine tours direct, or at Kununurra Visitor Centre.

On your day trip to the mine, you’ll be amazed by the sheer scale of its operations and learn all about the mine’s unique relationship with the traditional land owners, as well as its signature stones, highly prized pink diamonds, which vary in colour from pale pink to vibrant reds.

You’ll find a range of accommodation in Kununurra, making it the perfect base from which to explore the other jewels of the Kimberley. Marvel at the iconic beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu National Park from the air or ground, or take in the majesty of Lake Argyle by boat, at 20 times the size of Sydney Harbour, it’s the Southern Hemisphere’s largest man-made lake.
