Wooramel River Retreat sits on the bank of the upside down Wooramel River, beneath tall gums, roughly eight hours north of Perth. This is a station stay built around ancient artesian water, rising from 240 metres beneath the Gascoyne, warm and mineral-rich long before anyone thought to give it a marketing name.

Guests soak in the baths, join a yoga session, walk the river bed, take the self-guided trail or the 4WD track through the property, and spend evenings around the campfire under a sky with no light pollution — the kind of stars most people have never actually seen. Their café and bar serves a small à la carte menu built around regional produce, alongside a cold drink at the end of the day.

There's no set itinerary and no pressure to fill the day. Families, grey nomads, solo travellers and couples have always found their way here, and the pace is set by the place, not a program. The buildings and the land carry real pastoral history, and the people looking after you are warm and visible without ever making a show of it.

Wooramel doesn't ask much of its guests. Just to arrive, slow down, and find your Wooramel Way.
